Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information ToopTools collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Our approach to privacy
ToopTools (https://tooptools.com) is built to be privacy-first. The large majority of our tools process your input entirely within your browser. When you format, convert, calculate, hash or transform something, that work happens on your own device — the content you type or upload into a tool is generally not sent to our servers and not stored by us. When you close the tab, that data is gone.
2. Information we collect
Information processed locally (not collected by us)
Text, files, images and other input you provide to a tool are processed in your browser to produce the result you asked for. We do not receive or retain this content.
Local browser storage
Preferences such as pinned tools and your workspace layout are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. This stays on your device, is not an account, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example which pages and tools are popular, approximate region, device type and referral source. This helps us decide what to improve. Analytics data is collected in a pseudonymous form and is not used by us to personally identify you.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers may use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Analytics — Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage and distinguish unique sessions.
- Advertising — we plan to display ads through Google AdSense. When enabled, Google and its partners may set third-party cookies to serve and measure ads, and (where applicable) to show more relevant ads. Google may use advertising identifiers in line with its own policies.
- Essential functionality — local storage used to remember your workspace preferences as described above.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect analytics and advertising but will not stop the tools themselves from working.
4. Third-party services
Some data is handled by third parties who act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics — see Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense(planned) — ad serving and measurement, governed by Google's advertising policies. You can review and adjust ad personalisation in your Google Ads settings.
- Hosting — the site is served by our hosting/CDN provider, which may process standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and reliability.
5. How we use information
- To operate, maintain and improve ToopTools and its tools.
- To understand aggregate usage and prioritise new tools and fixes.
- To display advertising that helps keep the service free.
- To protect the site against abuse, fraud and security threats.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
Because most tool processing happens locally, there is little personal data for us to retain. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings. Preferences stored in your browser remain until you clear them.
7. Children's privacy
ToopTools is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to opt out of personalised advertising. You can:
- Use browser controls to clear cookies and local storage.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Adjust ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
- Contact us to exercise any applicable rights — see Contact.
9. International users
ToopTools can be accessed worldwide. By using the site you understand that analytics and advertising providers may process data in countries other than your own, subject to their own safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
