The BMI Calculator works out your Body Mass Index from your height and weight, in either metric or imperial units. It shows your BMI, the weight category it falls into, and the healthy weight range for your height.
What your BMI means
Body Mass Index estimates body fat from your weight relative to your height. A BMI under 18.5 is underweight, 18.5–24.9 is the normal range, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30 or above is classed as obese.
This calculator also shows the weight range that would put you in the healthy BMI band for your height, in your chosen units.
Good to know
- Works in metric (kg/cm) and imperial (lb/ft-in)
- Shows category and healthy weight range
- A screening tool — it doesn't measure body composition
